A little bit of planning can save you from hours in a drenched jacket, and still leave with an awesome experience.
1) Board the Great Orme Tram (or ascent via cable car)
The Great Orme is still worth a visit even if the weather isn’t great and it’s drizzly instead. Every minute, the views change and you can get off or on depending in which way the clouds move. Bring a sweater - it gets cool at higher altitudes. For Best Hotel in Llandudno, visit //stgeorgeswales.co.uk
2) Meet in a cafe and socialise
Llandudno is made for lazy, cosy stopovers. Choose a café where you can get something hot and spend as much time there as you need. Enjoy a slice of cake or two – it would be rude not to on such a rainy day!!
3) Shopping and arcades
On a heavy rain day, keep it in the centre. Stroll between shops and have some fun in the amusement arcades for a few hours at their seaside-esque best that needn’t rely on sunshine.
4) Drive to Conwy for a scenic drive
For all the carowners out there, a rainy day is perfect to go for a short drive. Conwy is near, steeped in history and handy to sneak around at your own leisure between downpours.
5) Choose a “rain-friendly” walk
If the rain is just drizzly, bundle up and take a shorter spin with an obvious finish line – coffee or lunch. That will still give you that fresh air coming off the sea but hopefully not a full day of it.
Quick tip
Keep your small umbrella and waterproof shoes in the car, and plan out short tours: one outside/one inside. Whatever the weather, Llandudno is the perfect destination.
